I can’t be alone

Hi everyone.

Lately I’ve been trying to keep myself from bouncing from person to person. It’s really hard for me to be completely alone. Does anyone have tips that make this easier? I don’t want to depend on sleeping with people to make me feel validated anymore

Hi friend 😊

This is such a real, valid problem. Thank you for sharing it with us. It makes sense, you depend on other people not only to validate you but to make you feel loved. So when you're alone, you lack those feelings you really need.

I'm wondering what it is that other people say and do that makes you feel validated. You mentioned sleeping with them, that makes sense. What are other things that feel validating?

Maybe spending time with you? Giving you compliments? Physical contact?

Something to begin thinking about ❤

Sending warmth 💜🌿

Definitely a huge part of the BPD brain, it becomes so much more than sex, it’s a coping strategy, a security blanket, a self esteem tool, etc. It can become an anxious every day necessity to feel like everything is solid with gaps of a few days causing internalizing and intrusive destructive thoughts. Trust me your not alone. Abilify definitely helped with my intrusive thoughts and crazy movies that i’d get sucked into, they didn’t stop but the projector breaks more often now! Hang in there. Mindfulness, breathing, and working out help me a ton too! Stay busy and avoid sad music, keep the windows open and beastie boys cranking.
