I am sorry that you're feeling that way, and I can tell you that reaching out to people (on 7 Cups for instance, forums or even privately to listeners) is a big step and I am proud of you. <3 Understanding those feelings and experiences is important, and your attempt at doing so is a big step. <3 Thirteen can be tough, confusing and conflicting age, whether those difficult experiences be from a BPD or something completely unrelated; at the end of the day you want to understand yourself and your emotions better in order to feel better, regardless of what label you decide to go for. As someone said in their previous reply, though diagnosis can be helpful in some ways, you do not NEED to be diagnosed in order to do that.
Please know you have a whole community that supports you here, you are not alone. <3 Also, you can always reach out to me privately to talk about it if you want to, I am there for you <3

I'm an adult by now, but my family is very anti-therapist so I never had the luck of a diagnosis throughout my life either.

Don't let anyone tell you that you're not experiencing very real hardships, whether they stem from BPD or something else. You know yourself best, and if you feel that you are struggling and experiencing symptoms than people should take you seriously for that. That's much better than just denying yourself help and shunning yourself for how you feel and what you experience. If you grow older and you end up being wrong about having BPD, lucky you. You can still congratulate yourself on being healthy later. But BPD is serious and if you feel like you're experiencing it, you should be able to seek out help for it like any other person.

I always shamed myself for thinking I have PTSD when I was young. But looking back I absolutely had PTSD, and my life would have been so much easier had I had access to help and support. I would have been back on my feet so much faster if I didn't have to struggle alone and ashamed because I thought I was 'just a kid who wants to play victim'.

It's okay to be wrong about your self-diagnosis. And you shouldn't think of yourself as 'a lost cause because I have BPD' either. But please don't be afraid to seek help. If you have any chance of seeing a therapist, go see a therapist. They will help you whether you have one bad thing going on or another. And if you absolutely can't see a therapist, make yourself at home in forums and communities. Information is absolutely vital in this situation. Read as many life-stories and experiences from people with BPD as you can and talk to people about your symptoms and concerns. This will help you guide you on your right path.

Good luck to you @staya1ivef0rme61
