Not sure what to do

My BPD is on a rampage right now. I work in retail and my main addiction is shopping. Last night while working I decided to pick up some clothes to try on during my last 15min break at 7:45pm. I want to say I started picking out clothes around 5:50pm while still doing my job, I actually used doing my job as a way to get the clothes I wanted by putting clothes from the fitting room back on to the floor.

My co worker, in the fitting room, had a break at 8pm and I knew I couldn't try on all of my clothes in 15 mins so I decided to take my break at 7:15pm and try some on, and then do my job then try some more on so on and so forth. Well I got caught. I got called to the register and didnt respond. One of my other co workers walked into the fitting room looking for me, found me and told my boss what I was doing. Granted I had zero idea that I was NOT allowed to try clothes on during my break (one of the many stupid policies that they have). I thought we just weren't allowed to purchase items on break.

Anyway, I thought I was in trouble for taking my break early and not saying anything. So later on around 8:10 my manager called me up to the office and gave me a written warning, not good.

I have trouble working my job, I find it boring, tedious and no reason for policies. I want to quit, but I can't, I need a job. Sadly finding another one is out of the oictures, I have tried every place in the shopping center. I dont drive, I walk everywhere so I have to keep my job close to home.

That sounds so frustrating! I think that's silly that you can't try on clothes during your break. I can understand not doing it while you're on the clock, but if it's a break it's your time to spend however you want, or so you'd think. I'm sorry you got a written warning.

It can be hard to maintain a job when you find it boring and tedious, and maintaining a job because you don't have a choice can definitely make you feel miserable. I hope something changes for you soon. <3

@InvaderStitch Thank you. Thats how a lot of us feel, even though we are on the clock our breaks are our time but the hours before and after our break no we shouldn't be shopping and trying on clothes. The companies policies are getting rediculous.

I hope things get better soon as well, or at least get easier. I've had a trying couple of months, not just with work, and I hope things start to calm down. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
