I'm a 21 year old, straight, guy, diagnosed a bit over a year ago and today while researching my condition (this usually helps me return to calm) I read that BPD is a lot more common in females than males and this has set off a lot of questions in my head I cant get answers to online.

I've always had problems with not feeling like a "proper man" or feeling too feminine or even sometimes questioning my sexuality and gender for short periods.

So now I've started to think could the fact I'm not very masculine somehow be related to how women are more likely to have BPD and if I have high "female hormones" or such that made me develop differently.

Can any of you relate or know where I'm coming? Also is it common for us males with BPD to be more feminine that stereotypical masculine ? Any insights or anecdotes are welcome

Hi. I'm a 20 year old male who doesn't feel like an adult at all. I like the feminine side of things and can't enter any relationships. I wish I was born a girl.

Hi, I am male but I don't have BPD. I am homossexual and I am in love of with friend who has BPD. We've been close friends for 5 years now. It turns out we got kinda remantically involved since I've always had a crush on him and I felt liek he was hinting me all these years. Well, he's been having such a hard time trying to understand or assume his sexuality that, along with apparently having borderline or bipolarity, he had a violent crisis and got institutionalized for 6 months...

I've been suffering so much since and I feel guilty for somehow pushing him into all this, even if it's not my fault that he can't understand himself...

Please, if you feel like we could help each other, contact me

its very possible that it is only diagnosed more often in women while being equally prevalent in reality. I wouldnt get too hung up on the sex hormone stuff, youre you and thats cool. I grew up thinking I had to be a real man and all that too, but definitely liked less masculine things as well. I used to be more afraid to show these things but once I realized that probably everyone did and we were just afraid to talk about it. Ive been more open about what I like and that has helped! Be you man, its all we can do! (I also believe I have BPD)
