Outbursts affecting social life
Every time I have something go wrong, and a friend comes to me for support, I get out of control and make things about myself, even though I totally wouldn't do that in my right mind. I feel like there's two people piloting my body, BPD and not BPD. I'm not sure what to do here?
@basilsweater
I can understand what you are describing! I used to find myself doing the same thing. Listening and supporting others (in spite of our own situation / feelings) is a skill that can be learned and improved with practice. 7 Cups has a training guide that help you with some pointers. You can find it HERE
In the mean time, be gentle with yourself. Come to 7 Cups as often as you need to in order to find a listener that is here for you. That way you are free to focus on your friend when they need you.
I hope this is helpful to you

@basilsweater ugh not very helpful, but I find this incredibly relatable and I'm sorry you're going through it too
You're experiencing overloading emotion, it's very difficult to control. You'd like to control yourself but emotional impulses take over. You're valid for feeling this way. If it's possible, having a friend or listener allowing you to vent might provide you with reassurance that you will eventually have an opportunity to release the raw emotion later momentarily after you speak to your friends
So about 7 months ago I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder along side schizoaffective bipolar type and avoidant personality disorde. I was having really bad suicidal thoughts cause of the schizoaffective bipolar so they put me on some really high and hard antipsychotics. Well they didn't treat the borderline personality disorder. I'm having sudden outbursts, rage and I don't even know how to control it. It just come out of nowhere and I get mad. Is there anything that I can do to help keep it under control? How do I not switch moods so fast like I do? Someone please help me I'm so New to this.
