I would read articles about pwBpd in Quora, and it made me feel like I was a member of the most hated group In the history of mental illness . That’s not all we are. We are empaths. We don’t just destroy! We build, too. Considering the intense pain we feel our enitions, most of us are sympathetic listeners to norms in pain. We know what to say to help them feel better. We can adjust our personality so we connect with others and make it easier for them to open up to us.many of us are empaths. We are the shoulder that the world can cry on. Despite our deep pain, we can carry you too!! Our amazing ability to know what other feel or if they are holding back. We can share the load of their sorrow, too. Most of us were so damaged before we were out of our toddler years. We are strong. We adapted and survived. Of course that would cause significant problems in adulthood, so learn dbt skills and use your gifts of heightened empathy to help others. And if you are also gifted and feel others painful emotions

Thank you for all of your wonderful contributions and support in this world. A lot of the characteristics that you have are very helpful and valuable. There are a lot of jealous people out there and people that get very mad at people that they aren't able to manipulate. As a result, people will focus on the negative and make us feel like that we are the most hated. I appreciate all of the good that you do in this world.

I like your observation about how others not being able to manipulate us as being the cause of many of the negative feelings in regards to pwbpd. Thank you also for your kind words. I want to help others again. My life is unrecognizable now. I’ve isolated myself for so long, when I tried to get out and do more, I paid a heavy price. I do know that helping others is one of the few things that did bring me joy. Almost anyone can feel joy by helping others, especially if they were blessed with gifts to help others.

You give such a beautiful perspective on BPD. To be clear, Im not embracing anyone to suffer with with BPD, but this is a positive way to look at a disorder if a person feels negatively labelled. Similar to how ADHD has a strength in creativity, BPD has a strength in empathy and sympathy. Thank you for sharing your perspective

@FirstLight4762

thank you. It took a long time before I realized there was a gift also developing from the pain. All I started to read, tho it was nice to finally see bpd being acknowledged, was dislike, anger, rejection, and criticism for pwbpd more than any group I know of. Critical of a group of people that were already suffering so bad. When we are the way we are because of so much trauma and pain that it permanently damaged us before our personality could even develop! That damage took away who we would have been. But then I thought about how that same pain created a trait in us that could help others in a very unique way. A way that can never be taught. And definitely not recreated with that intention. So I then began to focus on that gift and it felt good. That is a blessing. I wish I had recognized it for what it was many years ago. I am hopeful pwbpd will recognize it earlier since it's finally being discussed, and hopeful it will help with their healing.

@solomonismute

It is so confirming to know you also can see how special that gift makes you. That we are not just out to cause pain but can help others lessen their pain.
