Relationship Advice
Recently I’ve noticed how dependent I’ve become on my boyfriend, we’ve been dating over a year and he’s been amazing and supportive of me working on my mental illness. But recently he said he feels like he couldn’t feel comfortable talking about his own mental health issues in front of me and that he couldn’t talk to me about our issues because I would freak out. I tried to distance myself from him a bit and spend some time on my own and give him time for whatever he wants, but now I’ve found I just shut my emotions off completely. I don’t want to break up with him I just want to be a normal girlfriend.
I don’t know how to be in a relationship without being completely obsessed with your partner and revolving your life around them. But I know it’s hurting my boyfriend so I want to learn I just don’t know how. Someone please help.

Hi there--I'm glad your boyfriend has been really supportive. That makes sense what you're saying that you're trying not to overload him but how that's also resulted in being more distant from him.
It sounds like something that he really wants is to be able to share some of his feelings/experiences and feel heard. This link has some tips for listening to someone with a mental health issue.
