Trouble knowing who I am

I have trouble knowing who I am. If I ask myself who I am I don’t have any idea. That concept changes frequently. I have trouble connecting with other people I’m not comfortable with. Especially at work. I find myself being silent awakardly. I find myself stumbling over words and feeling childish. This isn’t me! I wish I could feel comfortable. Instead I feel like a specimen under a microscope. I have no friends. I don’t know who I am. I don’t know what I want out of life. It’s exhausting.

I, too, struggle with this issue. One of BPD symptoms is frequent and extreme mood swings, and in my case I believe it contributes a lot to my sense of self. When I'm happy/sad, I can be entirely different person. It affects my persona and up until now, after getting help and all, I still do not understand who I am or what I want in life. Which is okay. I completely understand your struggle. I'm all ears if you want to talk about this more heart sending hugs and prayers to you.
