I have one of these, along with having Borderline a Personality Disorder with Dissociation. Dissociative disorder people need just as much support, and they too have some of the most creativity when it comes to poetry, muse, and other forms of the creative juices. You will most likely need to have stricter policies in place for those who come, but then at least they will have somewhere to go and support each other, and be supported.

I Have been dissociating for a few years now and it scares the hell outta me sometimes and other times it's fun to act like a kid and play with clay and make stuff.. I wish I could control it though, I hate the emotions it leaves me with

I have not been diagnosed with an accompanying dissociative disorder, however I often experience episodes of depersonalization and derealization. It occurs a lot when I am under significant stress, but sometimes, it just comes out of nowhere. These episodes can and have been quite distressing to me, and have even led me to some dangerous behaviours. On the other hand, they have also protected my mind from some potentially stresful or traumatic situations.

I was actually diagnosed with DID a couple of years ago. It's a the kind of illness that never really leaves completely.

Thank you all for sharing. Can you please describe what happens to your experience of reality when you dissociate? I have feelings of unreality myself.

@blitheSun94 - When I disassociate, it often feels like my world isn't real. I feel lighter, I feel detached from myself and my surroundings, and I feel devoid of emotions. All I feel is some ethereal kind of existence. You know that sensation when you touch something for the very first time? When I fall into a disassociative episode, everything I touch is like that. Nothing feels real. These episodes have led me into many a dangerous situation.
