can you be "too young" to have bpd?
I might have asked this question a long time ago before, but recently I REMEMBERED (I almost can't believe I forgot that I've always been questioning bpd) that I literally hold a lot of bpd symptoms, and, well, I kinda relapsed. However, someone told me that it is not possible to have bpd if you are under 18 years old. Is this true? Or was that person just invalidating me, as I'm under 18? I'm too scared to ask my parents to visit a therapist to get diagnosed, since I think it's pretty much obvious that they'll refuse.
Experts disagree about whether you can have BPD when you are under 18. Some experts think it's impossible. So I do not think that person was invalidating you. Some experts genuinely believe that it's wrong to diagnose BPD under 18.
Everyone agrees that early childhood is definitely too young to have BPD, so the answer to your question is yes, technically you can be too young.
For teens using 7 Cups, from 13 to 18, the answer will depend on which psychiatrist you go to. A full diagnosis usually means being assessed by a psychiatrist or maybe a psychologist, but not just by a therapist or counsellor. Even so, talking to any health professional you have access to would be a start.
Having a lot of the symptoms doesn't really count. Most of the symptoms can be caused by other things, and that makes the diagnosis complicated and difficult. It is certainly not possible to diagnose yourself, or to get a diagnosis on the Internet.
I agree with what @StandForFreedom has said about reaching out to your parents and getting professional help. I very much hope you will be able to find a way to do that.

@RodWhiteley ah i see :o so it's most likely near to impossible. actually, i've seen a therapist a long time ago once (which is basically the main reason of why I can't ask to go for the second time) and I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, so maybe my symptoms are in account of those? I don't really know lol. Thank you for your response!
