Hi, I have severe separation anxiety when it comes to my boyfriend. I haven't seen him for three days and i'm having trouble sleeping without him. Does anyone feel the same way? And how do you cope with it?

@sparklesinthewater It's an awful feeling. My sisters dog has separation anxiety and it hurts to see that animals also can feel that way.. I hope we both start feeling better soon. <3 Try to distract yourself with things you like, maybe watching something or talking to people. That usually helps a little for me, but its 1:37 AM where I live so I cant do that right now

I usually practice some self-care that brings the focus back to myself. I may go for a walk, write, craft, watch something on netflix, read. Grounding techniques and mindfulness help a lot too. I can post some suggestions if you are not familiar with them :)

Hi, I have severe separation anxiety when it comes to my boyfriend. (This can often feels scary and overwhelming, specially when it can quite tough to calm the feelings)I haven't seen him for three days and i'm having trouble sleeping without him. (I can tell this comes from early childhood because it resembles an inconsistent love when you were little, so now it becomes tough to soothe the anxiety. The moment you feel space from him is where you wonder whats going on, what will happen between the two of you, and if you will ever hear from him. Everything will be okay even though it feels awful at the moment. T) Does anyone feel the same way? (I have felt this way in the past, so i can relate to how you feel. You are not alone in this) And how do you cope with it? (For me, I tend to meditiate and face the overwhelming emotions. It's important to not push them away or gain some sort of instant gratification. It's also important to remind yourself "I understand i feel anxious at the moment, but im now an adult and everything will be okay)

The fact you don't have many memories of your children is an indication you often experienced a lot of anxiety, so this impacted your memories. There's a chance you experienced neglect and abandonment, which makes sense why you feel anxious when you are away from your bf. A lot of past attachment trauma will be triggered in this relationship if its not dealt and resolved.
