Thank you, it is. I am working on forgiving myself and letting myself feel the emotions but its really difficult.

Hi, I haven't experienced this myself, but it seems like it's pretty common . Found some research saying that for people with BPD who had been in remission for at least 2 years, ~30% experienced some kind of recurrence in the following 10 years.

In other contexts (e.g. substance abuse/addition), relapses tend to happen when people are under more stress/pressure than usual, it's just a normal part of the process, it's not something to get mad at yourself over, and the way to get through it will be the same as however you managed to work through things initially and get to the point where you were in remission (but it might be easier since you're not starting from zero).
