Treatment Ideas Needed For BPD
Hey! I’m Rey and I’m 20. I’ve been diagnosed with BPD for over 2 years now. I’ve been in therapy since I was 10 and in numerous psych meds since I was 12. Through the years, I’ve tried DBT, CBT, talk therapy, group therapy, Inpatient, PHP, IOP, residential, and countless medications. Nothing has ever helped more than a couple of months. Does anyone have any suggestions of alternative things I could look into?

Hi Rey. 💜 There are some other forms of therapy out there that might be relevant to BPD (e.g. schema therapy, mentalization-based therapy, transference-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy).
But I don't feel quite right about just being like "how about you try this next" when you've already tried so many things. Almost feels like mindlessly pushing you along to the next person.
I wonder if there might be certain things that are possible to learn from those past experiences, or maybe your current experiences, that might point in a particular direction.
1) You mentioned that some of the past treatments helped for a little while but then they stopped helping. What things helped the most?
2) Has there been a sort of pattern to how things stop working, triggers that tend to cause things to collapse, etc.?
3) Are there particular things happening now that feel especially overwhelming?
