I’m 23 years old with severe depression and bpd, I been through so many treatments (other than tms) my regular family doctor says she has no more options and my psychiatrist says she’s out of options as well, what else is available?

I'm really sorry this is the case.

That nothing is working to allow you to feel better.

Sending you my genuine best wishes that something else is provided 💜

Hi there 💜 Sorry that things haven't gotten better after all that effort.

I'm kind of curious what treatments the doctor/psychiatrist have already tried. (Maybe it could help to know what hasn't worked, just to get a sense of what other options might still be leftover to try.) Have they been mainly trying medications, or have you tried some different types of therapy as well?

Hey there! I’m sorry it feels like you’ve hit a dead-end as far as avenues for treatment. As far as primary treatment for BPD, DBT programs, or dialectical behavioral therapy is the main therapy used to treat DBT.  I would look for specific DBT programs (some can be online as well), rather than therapists that know or integrate it into their sessions. DBT can also help alleviate depression.

It has to be hard (and scary) to feel out of options. Sometimes moving up a level of care, such as an Intensive Outpatient Program might provide different kinds of therapy in a group setting. Depression and BPD can make people feel isolated, and I’m glad you reached out here. Proud of you. Just for being here. :)
