I don't really know how to start this post. Truthfully, I just became of the fact that I am a narcissist. It was presented to me first gently, but now that so much time has past it has really hurt the people I care about. At first I didn't recognize that I infact was a narcissist.

Hello there =)... well I guess one needs to start somewhere, that's the most important thing. And admitting to yourself that you got a personality disorder and like, really facing it... including what it means to your environment and the ppl around you... that's quite the important step hun. heartyes So you're being honest towards yourself. Which is necessarry so you can start working on things, e.g. by finding professional help.

Glad you found this site and this community though! Hope it can help you to move forward on the path you just started. kisslaugh

Hey dear =)... I'm afraid I gotta tell you it's almost impossible to give you advice like this blush. The thing is, everyone is an own individual person, and personality disorders tend to present themselves a bit differently in eeveryone. And in turn, something that would help somebody might be not helping at all or might even be harmful for someone else.

So I suppose the best thing you can do is to try and find professional help (such as a counselor or a therapist) and then find out what will be the best way for you to manage your individual symptoms. And to find out what's "your personal version" of your personality disorder and what's the best way for you to control it. Because only you know yourself best. So only you can find those answers you know. frownheart

We're here to support you on your way though, so you don't have to do it all alone and will have a safe place to share whatever you're struggling with and get it off your chest heart.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, hoping you'll find someone that will help you to figure things out. kisskisskiss

PS:

I really don't mean to discourage you, but while you will find out how to get a hold of your symptoms and will learn skills and strategies to manage them (through the right type of therapy), I suppose "transitioning yourself into not being a narcissist anymore" isn't really an option dear. But it IS definitely possible to get better and lead a happy life including healthy relationships and all that. smiley

So keep going and keep pursuing that goal yeah? heart
