Hi there. 💜 Due to current forum bugs, I'm unable to dig through the forum and find other threads where people have described their experiences with BPD and what they're doing that works for them. But I do have some resource links handy with tips/suggestions for handling BPD:

Masterpost for a series of posts teaching skills associated with dialectical behavior therapy (empirically supported therapy for BPD):

I deal with all nine symptoms. I would say my worst symptom would be my black and white thinking. One of the hallmarks of BPD is something called Splitting, which is where a person with this condition will have a sudden shift in perspective about another person or a situation.

Honestly, it’s taken a while, but my symptoms have improved. I’ve been in a lot of therapy, and I am much more stable than I was when I was younger. The most helpful type of therapy was DBT for me. There are four different types of skills in DBT: 1) Mindfulness, 2) Emotion Regulation, 3) Distress Tolerance for crisis situations, and 4) Interpersonal Effectiveness. Personally, I found the emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills to be the most effective for myself, but it can be different for everyone.

A lot of times that emotional intensity we feel from this disorder often improves with age. This is definitely tough to experience and wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.

Thank you for sharing it with me I know it can be hard and exhausting and if you need anything you can reach out to me you know the reason why I asked was because me dealing with this too I’m not diagnose with it because I developed and it wasn’t clear to any psychiatrist or psychologist or maybe they didn’t want to deal with someone who had this disorder you already know it need so much effort so yeah but my point is you’re not alone in this and I’m proud of you of coming too far in this and I’m happy for you big hugs
