Oxymoron perhaps?
Where hugs and h*rm reside.
Where songs and screams prevail
Where give and take collide
Be in fear when she bewails.
Those nursing eyes, so brown and deep
Turn red with pure, pure rage
I fear in them that I may drown
Beware the cruel rampage.
Perpetually soothing the pains in my neck
From the whiplash I endure.
From the very person I “love” and “trust”
From the person I used to adore.
So kind, so cruel,
So nice, so mean,
So sweet, so bitter,
Will encourage, will demean.
How does it feel to see a stranger, in the first eyes I ever saw?
How does it feel to touch the finger that now feels like a claw?
How does it feel to fear the person who is supposed to keep you safe?
How does it feel to run away from the one who gives eternal chase?
Poison can be mistaken for medicine
And venom mistaken for an antidote
The ax forgets, the tree remembers.
But I wear a smile as my coat
The words you say, the things you yell
Still echoes in my skull
And there they will stay eternally
As mind illness takes its toll.
I fear your footsteps near my room
I fear it when you call.
Your puppet strings have grown so tight.
But if I let go, I fall.

So vivid.
You captivated me from the first lines.
Drawing me in , anticipating each line.
The fine line between love and hate.
The fact we can do and feel both at the same time.
The linear relationship.
The fleetingness of feelings.
I thoroughly enjoyed this!
