I could stop it

I could stop the fights

I could stop the yelling

That plagued my head with sprawling thoughts

I could stop it

I could stop the tears

I could stop the begging

The pleading to make all of the pain vanish

So why can’t I stop this ?

Like a storm , crackling , rippling

A force of nature

I never stood a chance

It’s so simple

Just put it down

Lock it away , chains , destroy the key

But I can’t

I can’t live without it

My sanity dripping through my fingers

Each time

I fail
