A Poem I Wrote
So I'm in a poetry class. I don't know what triggered it tonight, but I was writing and all of a sudden this just came out. I don't know what to do with it, I don't fully know what it means, but for some reason my brain is telling me to share it, so here it is.
What’s wrong?
what if i told you the answer is everything?
what if i told you the answer is nothing?
what if i told you that i honestly dont know?
what if i told you, its just my depression?
what if i told you its the state of the world the war in Ukraine the genocide in Palestine and Congo?
what if i told you its my childhood trauma that i am just now realizing (at the age of 21!) has impacted and shaped me more than i ever thought it would?
what if i told you my favorite character in a tv series died?
what if i told you i dont know what to look forward to in life anymore?
what if i told you i am worried again about my younger brother committing suicide?
what if i told you i still blame myself for those previous attempts?
what if i told you that i am the reason it happened because i wasnt able to stop our father?
what if i told you he did it to me too?
if i told you the answer
what would you do?
what would that change really?
Hello.
Your poem is beautiful yet worrying. I thank you for opening up by sharing this poem. Opening up is important to relieve your pain and heal. What’s worse than to keep all the pain to yourself?
I can feel you are depressed.
You are thinking about all the past unfortunate events. It sounds like you are lost and uncertain. There is a possibility that your depression is causing your overthinking.
There is always something to look forward in life. It is something to be discovered.
The fact that you are sharing your poem means that you can look forward to reply/replies and the fact you are reaching out means there is a part of you that wants to feel better.

Can someone help to analyse and interpret this poem in detail, thanks a lot

thanks for your response and kind words. The poem is not a cry for help or anything like that, but more a reflection on experiences that have bothered me in the past and sometimes still do. At the time that I wrote it recently, I was just in my feels, and when that happens words tend to just fall onto the page. Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it, but I can safely say that I am not feeling like I want to end my or anything drastic like that (i'm too cool to die lol). Thanks!
Loved the honesty of your poem. I have the opposite problem, no one there to ask me, “what’s wrong?” I eat out a lot with hopes to get out of my own head… there is something (usually) that the server does that is excellent, so, complimenting them usually takes them by surprise and I am thanked. this is my evening…. Most people are not really “present”, so to me, this is what your poem addresses… the “what if” that no one is prepared to respond to… I’ve become sensitive to peoples “invalidation” over the years… “oh, you’ll be ok… you’re {this or that making a compliment}” but really fail miserably in being the UNDERSTANDING FRIEND I needed just once… I liked the Twila Paris song 20 years ago, “The warrior is a child” - fighting so many battles, and so sick of being told how capable or strong… I applaud your poem.
I'm not able to read the poem for some reason, there are no words on the post
