CAPTAIN OF MY SOUL
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank where ever the Gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced or cried out aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance, My head is *** but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath or tears, Looms but the horror of the shade.
And yet the menace of the years finds me, and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how straight the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Actually this is a poem by William Ernest Henley. 🧐He's quite famous for this poem. I wanted to share it as my first post because I drew inspiration from this poem, which ultimately led me here. Next time i'll post one of mine and would love to get support too!!😁

@wIthpeACE Very nice. Your piece is melodic, emotional without seeming dramatic, and uplifting. It feels as if you spent significant time choosing just the right combinations of words and imagery to provide maximum effect. I liked it very much and look forward to seeing more of your submissions.
