The Weight and the Wings

From reading this poem, what do you think its about?

They say keep your chin up but mine’s been dragging on the floor
Every breath feels borrowed every smile feels like war

My mind is a maze with no exit signs a storm that rewrites the forecast daily
Some days I drown in silence some days the noise is too loud to bear

I’ve worn shame like a second skin stitched with threads of what’s wrong with you
But healing isn’t loud It’s quiet It’s crawling It’s choosing to stay when leaving feels easier

I’ve screamed into pillows cried into tea written poems I’ll never show but I’m still here
Still breathing Still building

I am not my diagnosis I am not the darkness I am the flicker
The fight The fragile hope that refuses to die

So if you see me rising know it’s not flight it’s defiance
These wings were carved from scars and I wear them proudly

@ListenerDuck2

For me it speaks about being more than your mental health.

More than a label.

You desire to be seen.

Heard.

Accepted.

Loved and celebrated as you are 💜💕

@ListenerDuck2

to us it about trauma  reaction  like hurting on the inside deeply but trying not to show that to others  yes one mental health DX is not who they be it just  a part of what they have and everyone has something too
