From the youngest daughter...
...to her mother back when she was young too.
Tw: it's sort of bittersweet, darkish at the end. Just throwing that out there.
Every word here is meant.
You have a beautiful smile
when you mean it
If you're curious-
No one can make you smile like your husband will,
The in-laws are a force to be reckoned with,
but so are you.
Stop to smell the flowers;
Some day you will find them scarce,
and love abundant
but nostalgia will never stop looking back,
that's what the Greeks call love.
If you're worried about your siblings--
they make it through
but keep an eye out:
sometimes, they could use a hug.
The ache your mother left will remain,
but you will grow beyond it,
and somedays it will be like it was never there.
People will want to be your friends, let them
but never stop being firm
in your self love.
And, most importantly of all-
the day you feel ready to raise children,
for the love of god,
for the sake of your happiness,
and for a better life;
only raise one.
There is something painful in the fact that the person this is addressed to, my mother, never shall read it and understand.

The font colour was an accident I didn't notice last night. Oops.
