Horizon

I lose sight of the sun as it dips below the horizon, signifying the end of the day. 

Living proof I've survived yet another storm thrown my way. 

I stand here watching the sunset and bask in the dwindling warmth of the sun. 

I watch as the sky transforms into a vast array of colors and patters and it never ceases to amaze me how each sunset is completely different from the last. 

Every evening the sky tells a new story. 

The sun slowly fades away and I'm left feeling alone and defeated. 

The moon quickly appears overhead and bathes me in it's light. 

I never meant for my life to get this far out of hand. 

Never meant for things to go this far. 

I sink to the floor and cry as my mind swirls with unwanted thoughts. 

I don't want to fall asleep and have to wake up and relive this nightmare. 

I've pushed people away out of fear to protect myself from being hurt again. 

Trying to protect myself the only way I know how. 

I was a mistake... I was never meant to be here. 

My life has become so tangled; lies mixed with truth I can't even see two feet in front of me without stumbling through this chaos. 

Whether I like it or not the sun will rise and with it comes a new challenge for me to adapt to. 

I can run but I can't hide.
