My Stars Judgement
*Trigger warning for death, and the moments that lead to it*
Core leakage detected. . . Deactivate engines. . .
Activating distress beacon. . .
Reserve power insufficient. . .
Deactivating artificial gravity
Deactivating long range sensors
Deactivating short range sensors
Deactivating shields
Deactivating short range sensors
Deactivating long range communications
Deactivating short range communications
Reducing artificial life support
Deactivating distress beacon
Artificial life support will fail in 19 hours. . .
Deactivating ships control computer. . .
Somber
Yes that's how she would describe the view.
Like the stars were playing a durge for her already,
The very void clings to the ship, as dirt to a tomb.
Her vintage watch counts till space buries her eternal.
Floating in the bridge of the ship she stares,
Eyes meet the void without conflict or blame.
The stars shimmer judgement, verdict death,
Yet still her eyes reflect no anger, or hate.
This final hour does not deserve her wrath,
Nor deserving her panic and sorrow.
No message left for who finds this icy tomb. . .
Instead she searches for a full moment,
Then she find peace with her coffin.
Comfort in her grave.
Beauty from her verdict. . .

The vulnerability of this poem.
The lack of fear.
The acceptance.
The quiet tones.
When faced with this, it's hard to know how anyone will react.
Haunting.
Hope our only anchor!

Thank you Amanda, your words ring very true.
The base idea of this poem has been knocking around in my head for awhile. The idea being a glimpse into how one is after facing the absolute certainty death is coming and facing that undeniable truth for awhile. I think many of us fear death, and or put it aside in our mind almost forget about it. This poem is the glimpse of a person who can't avoid, forget, or push away it's inevitable grasp, and comes to a conclusion.
Perhaps this poem is more a concept I wish to gain, a peace or conclusion with mine and the worlds non-permanence. Still it has many other themes and ideas in it and so many ways it can be interpreted.
Thank you for replying Amanda! Your words are always welcome 🩵
