The Chains that Bind
Link after link, blink after blink.
Into the sky, my eye dully looks.
Clink after clink, tink after tink.
The chain goes high, with far reaching hooks.
The hammer falls, the anvil quakes.
Dusty and tall, when will it fall.
Beat after beat, my fist now shakes.
All ringing stills, but the call never stalls.
A bang and a boom, a crown or a tomb.
The fire burns bright, and chain still goes on.
I look to the sky, far away dreams and beams,
I still hammer on, the chain becomes long.
The hammer is dull, the handle decayed.
But still I pound on, forging link onto link.
@7Bear7
this is really good. It has a specific meaning, uses multiple forms of poetry tactics. It's awesome and I love it
@7Bear7 Hey Bear, I’m so glad you shared your poetry on 7 Cups.... it makes me really happy to see you writing. I love this!!! It’s haunting and beautiful.... every stanza carries the weight of struggle, strength, and perseverance. The rhythm feels like the very act of forging and the imagery—chains, hammers, the sky—strikes something deep and timeless. It’s quietly powerful.... a true reflection of resilience<3
