The Girl In The Mirror

You don't recognize the person staring back at yourself.

Can't seem to recognize the person you've become... Won't accept how much you've changed. 

You may have been strong but you still crumbled.

You could try to wrestle with the mirror but the truth won't get any clearer. 

You've lost pieces of yourself to this monster you're becoming. 

Still holding on to everything that's dead and gone. 

Your heart is broken and all your scars are open. 

"Who am I" a constant ringing in your mind... A whispered echo. 

It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless. 

An emotionless face glares back at you through the shattered remains of the glass. 

Try to breathe in then out again but the air gets caught. 

Even though your older now you still don't know how to shake off the past. 

Your illusion, your mistake. 

Deep inside your heart you know this isn't what it was. 

Trapped in this void you call home.
