The Love He Knew How to Give

March 15th, 2025

I watched from the quiet, unseen space,

A love so tender, a soft embrace.

Not mine to hold, not mine to keep,

Yet there it was, running deep.

A father’s hands, steady and true,

Guiding a child as the seasons flew.

A voice so gentle, warm and bright,

Yet in my world, he dimmed the light.

Was it fear, or was it fate?

That love for me came far too late?

Did he not know, or did he choose,

That some hearts win, while others lose?

Perhaps he gave the love he could,

To the one place it was understood.

And I, a stranger in his eyes,

Was left with echoes, left with sighs.

But now I see, and now I know,

Love is not just meant to show—

It’s meant to feel, to hold, to stay,

Not slip like sand and fade away.

So let him love in ways he can,

I’ll find my home in steadier hands.

For love should never beg to live,

But bloom where hearts are free to give.
