The elephant

Too much and too little

Is somehow possible

I'm too much 

they ask for a giraffe

and get an elephant

(quite literally an elephant)

but too little, because

they don't want an elephant

No matter how hard it tries

painting itself with patterns 

Its not meant to have

Trying to shrink itself down

To have that shape

No matter how unhealthy it goes

It's still an elephant

but nobody wants the elephant

No matter how yellow it slathers on

Or spots it sticks onto its sensitive skin

It just ends up being an elephant

With red patches where the spots went

because its not meant to be 

a giraffe

Some people would fall for it

Only unintelligent people

but they get sense and leave 

to see the giraffe

I'm an elephant

But I want to be a giraffe

I got red patches under my eyes

because of those brown spots

I was being unhealthy

Trying to be a giraffe
