You will not come again, to give me
something from the beautiful life that sets you ablaze
a flower of it? It fills
your heart and body with so much.
You will not dare to join my hands
my frozen, hostile hands anymore?
Beside yours, the destined matches
are no longer united by reason.
You will not dare!... How slowly the days pass.
And the more you leave, the more my familiar fate haunts
me. So alone,
so long with the secret sorrow.
Doesn't it really cross your mind
that in a sad moment,
to this fate that always awaits me
I may go again and without return?

what others would you suggest i check out?
I'm from Greece, so like Polydouri, every poet I'm going to recommend u are from my country. Similar to Polydouri, Karyotakis is a pessimistic poem who wrote about love, depression and isolation. Also you should check Kavafis, another great greek poem. Sikelianos is a favourite of mine too, he was such a sensitive poem with clever and emotional writing. Another poet that i fully admire is Sarantaris. But the problem is that i don't know where you can find poems of them in English. For the time being, i will be posting some of their poems translated. I hope you find any poem written by them, because I'm sure they will touch you emotionally and they will make you feel related. You can me everything you want@Heather225!
