silver void
Darkness
Death
Void
Is this the path of Kings or Knights?
Armor clinks and blades rings,
throughout the hall as battles brawl.
Black stone stacking high,
Castle walls reflecting moon.
Fire blooms and blazes across all vision,
A shadow flees against their flicker.
Tall
Steep
Sharp
My path has lead me here,
The sounds of battle and blaze behind.
Foot steps clatter against stone,
Soldier are nearing their plattering plate is louder.
Silver
Waves
Brother
I glance down the cliff face,
Darkness and stars greet me.
The rush of waves ring through my ears,
Pounding in beat with the feet that follow.
To my left is shadow,
A figure clad with royal void.
My mind is foggy,
Which path is mine?
King or Knight?
Flee or Fight?
Heir or brother?
Void or silver?
Steel or ink?
My head throbs at the thought,
Yet the voided figure doesn't move.
I look behind, forest, road, field, home, and stone
Consuming blaze dark & deadly eats all I've known
A hand reaches out and rest on shoulder,
Comfort conveyed through hand and man.
Peering eyes stare into souls,
Two void, two glow.
§~×~§~×~§~×~§
Turning back to the sea and cliff ahead
A figure stands still grasping head.
No glow
No void
Just gray that's dulling fast.

Foot steps clatter on the stone!
I love the realness your words capture .
The tentative tone.
The fear.
The uncertainty.
The battle of life!
Putting on our individual armour.
Preparing for the unknown battles that lie ahead for us!
Do we have the strength?
Can we face it?
Or will we walk in the other direction?
Where does on muster the eternal hope for this battle we call survival!
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for commenting! Sorry for not responding sooner, I was kinda in a bad place mentally and took a break soon after just got back, and feeling quite a bit better.
I am glad my words spoke to you, I really enjoy (and kinda naturally) putting auditorial effects into my poems, maybe because I am always listening to something (generally music) and can barely stand silence. Or perhaps something else is why either way its fun to do.
It was a very interesting poem as I wrote it after being frustrated and having a calm but still not a great mental state, so I am not really sure the meaning of lesson for it all but each part I can see something in.
Again thank you so much for replying and sorry for being so late on my response. 🩵
