A short poem I made

The night is still, the streets are quiet, in this house lived my love;

He left the town long before, yet his house is still standing in the same place.

There I also see a woman, standing and staring into the heavens.

Wringing her hands in violent grief. I shudder when I behold her face;

The moon reveals to me my own likeness.

You doppelganger, you pale companion! Why do you mimic my lovesickness,

That tormented me at this place for so many nights ago in the past?

This poem is meant to symbolize how everyone has a shadow version of themselves, sort of like their other personalities and feelings they hide from others. The poem itself is about those feelings taking a physical form of a person

@AnAtomParticle

I think most of us have a shadow version and I love how beautifully you've allowed your feelings to have a "body" and space of their own. This is beautiful! (': <3
