Consequences of Your Actions

Trigger Warning

A 17 year old goes to school,

It’s the first time she’s gone in a while

but today she managed to get out of bed.

She goes in,

She smiles a few times,

even laughs once.

Then she drops her books,

Everyone just points and laughs,

She hears the whispers turning back to screams,

She skips the next class,

Goes home,

And cuts her thighs in her bathroom.

Her blood hits the floor and she loses consciousness,

By the time the paramedics arrive,

She’s gone.

How many people have to close their eyes,

Before we realize our actions have consequences?
