Complicated
Poetry / by sensitiveLychee9350

...See more It’s complicated, not having a dad, He didn’t teach me to ride a bike, Or go with me to the daddy daughter dances, It’s complicated to explain, But even more complex to experience. It makes you feel like a bad person, Every time you get upset after school, As you watch kids run to their dads. My mom says he left for good reasons, But what’s a good reason to leave your own kid? To expect their mother to do everything. What’s a good reason for that? They don’t think about how the kid feels, They don’t think how it will affect them, They just expect them to move one, To find someone new to walk them down the aisle, To find someone new to approve the first date. I always say I don’t care, That I’ve moved on, But I think about him all the time, I wonder what he looks like, And if he regrets leaving. Not having a dad is complicated, And it’s hard to explain, But I’d explain it 100 times, Just to have known him for a day.

What if (TW - self harm)
Self-Harm Recovery / by sensitiveLychee9350

...See more Trigger Warning - Self harm and *** What if I waited one more second, What if I didn’t take that pencil sharpener at that exact moment, What would you have done? Would you have actually hurt yourself? Would it all be my fault, I don’t care if you’re mad, I chose to save you, Because I knew if I didn’t, You would’ve gone too far. I don’t care if you never speak to me again, because I still would do it, Even if I knew you’d be mad. I knew if I didn’t send that email, I may have never seen you again, So, I’m glad I did, I would do it again if I could, Because I knew without that email, You would have done it;  That's true. I have already lost 2, So I knew, I couldn’t lose you, I knew, You wanted to. When I took that pencil sharpener away, You gave me these eyes that had me filled with guilt, Your eyes told all of what you planned to do, But I knew you would regret it, I knew you would. But I knew if I gave that pencil sharpener back to you, I’d be the reason you could.

Father

...See more I never knew my father, When I asked about him,  my mother would talk about his temper, the way he’d yell, I swore never to be my father, but time opens new doors. I promised I wouldn’t be like him, I would be kind, gentle and soft, and I am, But I can’t hide the anger. I hold the anger, I refuse to shout, but sometimes it comes out, my voice turns into his, as my voice gets louder and frustrated, My voice is replaced with his. I never knew my father, yet somehow I gained his anger, It doesn’t get terrible much, but I sense his presence every time. I swore I’d never be like my father, I thought ‘how hard could that be?’ Now I realize, that promise made a fool of me.

Eldest Daughter
Poetry / by sensitiveLychee9350

...See more I am the eldest daughter, I cannot have flaws, I am everyone's emotional support, I comfort my mom after her and her boyfriend fight, I smile when I want to cry. I have protected people's emotions before I even understood my own, When I break no one notices, They can’t notice, because I am the strong one. I am the second parent to my siblings, Even when I am struggling, I never got to feel like a real kid, found out Santa didn’t exist before I turned 9. I cannot cry because tears are messy, and I have to be strong and tidy. I notice everything even if I don’t act like I do, I know when my parents are stressed about money, I notice when to shut up, I feel guilty when I want something, because I feel greedy. My family calls me strong, They stop asking how I feel, I feel invisible, like I can’t show my own emotions, because people need me.

Somewhere Between
Poetry / by sensitiveLychee9350

...See more I live somewhere between wanting to be held and pretending I don’t need to be. Somewhere between dancing in the rain and standing in the doorway, watching the storm and convincing myself I’m fine. I want someone to stand with me in the downpour, to tell me I don’t always have to be strong, to love me loud enough that I stop whispering my needs.

The Day After You Take Your Life
Poetry / by sensitiveLychee9350
Last post
July 24th
...See more Trigger Warning   After you take your life, Your mother refuse to clean your room,  and your things will collect dust. Your best friend will beat herself up for not seeing the signs, And the creative writing you were stressing over in English class, Will have an A with a note from the teacher,  Telling you to never stop writing. The reasons you took your life, will have been just about to loosen their grip; You will see your dad cry for the very first time and it will be terrifyingly raw. The day after you take your life , your best friend will sit in her car and stare at your house, knowing you tried to shout for help, And for the first time, you won’t be able to comfort her. People will say it couldn’t have been stopped, but it could have. If they would’ve looked farther, If they would’ve seen your smile falter, If they would’ve wanted to see the signs, they would have.

A Bump in the Road

...See more I don’t like that I had to grow up, I don’t like that my life isn’t as cool as my friends And that I’m just a backup friend. I hate that I feel insane, Unheard, Silenced, I hate how numb I feel, And I don’t like to feel dumb but right now I do. I hate when people come to me with their problems, only to push away mine, I hate being smart at one thing, Then to feel stupid doing something else. I hate being a bump in the road, that no one wants to fix.

Consequences of Your Actions
Poetry / by sensitiveLychee9350
Last post
July 24th
...See more Trigger Warning A 17 year old goes to school, It’s the first time she’s gone in a while but today she managed to get out of bed. She goes in, She smiles a few times, even laughs once. Then she drops her books, Everyone just points and laughs, She hears the whispers turning back to screams, She skips the next class, Goes home, And cuts her thighs in her bathroom. Her blood hits the floor and she loses consciousness, By the time the paramedics arrive, She’s gone. How many people have to close their eyes, Before we realize our actions have consequences?
