Death Promises No Solace (A very harsh poem)
You dare approach me before the hour’s due,
Wasted beautiful dawns, your intentions askew,
Your soul unravels, threadbare, worn,
A ghost of dreams you left unborn.
Do you grasp the cost you bear,
Of all you squandered unaware?
She held her breath, her arms stretched wide,
And waited while you stepped aside.
She begged for you to carve your place,
But you turned away from her embrace.
Like a star that fears the burn of light,
You chose the dark, forsook the fight.
I am no refuge, no gentle hand,
I’m the mirror that you cannot withstand.
I show the cracks you left unhealed,
The truths from which you always reeled.
The sky here weeps for no one's plight,
My shadows ripple in disdain’s cold light.
You, who fled the storm's wild roar,
Shunned the rain's soft rebellion and more.
You think I’ll cradle what life defied?
That my arms will open where hers were denied?
No, I will not bear the weight you spurned,
Or heal the wounds from lessons unlearned.
She gave her chaos, beauty, and pain,
But you turned from her again and again.
You chose silence where music could play,
The void where fire could light your way.
And now you kneel, to seek my grace,
As if an end could rewrite your disgrace.
My voice ascends, sharp, unkind,
A blade that cuts through time’s unwind:
Life herself is a gift you betrayed,
A chance squandered, a debt unpaid.
Now death holds no solace, no relief,
Only the weight of your own disbelief.
As echoes shatter eternity’s dome,
I turn from you—your path alone.
For all you were and all you’ve done,
Is not worth the shadow you’ve become.

That was such a strong and stark poem. The rhyming couplets and steady cadence are reminiscent of tolling funeral bells and match so perfectly with the narrators accusatory voice. It is so emotionally charged, sliding from regret of purposefully wasted potential to cold anger, and yet paradoxically detached and merciless.
It is such a beautiful soliloquy, and there are so many amazingly crafted lines. It is sobering to hear a voice deny redemption with such force. I like how even the imagery of nature and darkness seems to share the same apathetic attitude toward the subject, as if they had used up all their chances to change or choose a different way and now the very universe turns it's collective back.
I find how certain themes are present in several of your poems very moving, as it feels like we see more and more facets of the poets inner world. Your poems, be they magical or melancholic, furious or fantastic, always demand attention and grasp the heart.
