Her Embrace
Pudding1000
June 17th
My hand reaching for those wrinkled fingers,
That are the warmest I've ever held,
Bring out a smile that lingers,
A love that cannot be spelt.
The strength of that hold
Taught me to be a child
Crying within its embrace
Even tho, now it's losing its grip and the stories that it told
A voice so soft,
It would make feathers feel coarse
Wraps me up in a story,
Of dreamy nights where love's foretold
The hand I longed for now leans on me
I hold it tightly to my heart,
For her wrinkles feel lighter suddenly.
The voice is growing faint,
So my ears can't keep up,
All I have are my prayers
That you taught me, timeless and quaint.
