Miss you
It’s been six years, but feels like an eternity.
Each day without you stretches wide and quietly.
I still expect your voice to fill the air,
To turn and see you laughing, standing there.
A mom, a sister, a light in the room,
Someone to lend a shoulder, midnight or noon.
You made the heaviness easier to bear,
Braiding my hair, singing songs without care.
Your absence sits quietly next to me,
Like a dandelion blowing in the breeze.
Light as air, but always there—
A soft reminder, floating everywhere.
I carry you in my heart, my life, and my humor,
In every deep belly laugh, every small rumor.
You live in the love I continue to give,
In the way I remember, in the way that I live.
My baby sister, you will always be. 🌻
