Glasses slipping down her nose
Jokes falling flat
yet landing soft upon the floor
Pen stitching poems of heartbreak
left pressed between pages
Those silly fragments of someone
In my diary, I keep
She moved
across oceans
with a dog, a brush
new job, a family
a place to hang her days
The feelings were in the shadows
Of the closet's quiet
Watched years gather
Desires collect dust in sunlit corners
