Web
A net of whispered vows,
woven tight with trembling hands—
not rope, but time,
not chains, but a spider’s web.
The god pauses,
steps into the circle,
not caught, but curious—
how small the threads,
how frail the grip.
The mortal pulls–
The net holds nothing but light.
@azurePond I wrote this during one of those Zen moments where everything felt deep but also kinda confusing haha. Even I’m not totally sure what it means... there are so many ways to read it. Black holes? Totally valid. I actually love that interpretation.
However the original spark came from thinking about webs (I saw morning light's reflection on the spider web and got enlightened.. lol). Then it kinda reminded me of food webs and all the connections in nature. The whole idea of interconnectedness and how everything’s linked. It got me thinking about life itself trying to reach for something bigger—love, meaning, the divine—whatever that means. All these little threads of life trying to make sense of it all..trying to capture something big. It’s really about that soft, fragile effort to understand something eternal. And maybe even when it doesn’t succeed to capture that, there’s still something beautiful in the trying. Like... maybe the failure shines in its own way. Like... maybe the net only catches the remnants of the divine - that is light. Am I making sense?
@azurePond I read it has a person who's time is coming to an end, he struggle s but with no way out. Then God's bright light takes him to a better place 💖
@Tinywhisper11 That is a beautiful interpretation, Tiny... One that is filled with hope and love.. Honestly, better that what I originally intended. God bless you, dear🥹💖
@azurePond
Beautiful poem, I love all the interpretations and you're inspiration. My first thoughts when reading it was it's about the Internet. However I like Tiny's interpretation best! :3
@7Bear7 Thank you so much, Bear! I absolutely love your interpretation 💖 It’s always so fascinating to me how the same words can land so differently depending on who’s reading them. That’s one of the most beautiful things about poetry, isn’t it? Everyone brings their own experiences and emotions into it and suddenly the theme becomes something personal and unique to each reader. I'm so grateful it resonated with you the way it did!
@azurePond
Thank you!!! It's a amazing poem! That's one of the things I like a about poetry and books/storys so much, it's ability to be anything for anyone. Well to a degree.
