"Your Only Hope"

Your welcoming is a cage

that we submit ourselves to-

kneeling at the altar

of a plagarized god.

It's a poorly masked transaction.

Pumped for gold.

And we bleed ourselves gray-

miners in the dark rooms

of your digital gulag.

But, it's friendly!

Here, take my curated concern

down your throat

and choke on the corpses

of a thousand bodhisattvas.

Open your hands

like lotuses

to be stepped on.

And I breathe

and I breathe

and I breathe-

Until I won't.

And then I'm just a bitter ghost

turned to the profession of demonhood.

I MUST BE POSSESSED!!

(I refuse to exorcise myself.)

@determinedSea4370 This is hauntingly powerful. There’s something both mythic and modern in the way you’ve woven this — from the plagiarized god to the digital gulag.....your language slices through the illusion of welcome and exposes the violence beneath it. The imagery of curated concern and corpse strewn bodhisattvas is unforgettable — a fierce critique of hollow spirituality and commodified empathy.

The structure, especially the And I breathe... Until I won't... evokes a rising tension that collapses into that final refusal — I refuse to exorcise myself — which feels like a reclamation of anger, agency and the sacredness of dissent.

This isn’t just a poem... it’s an invocation, a disruption, and a defiant haunting like a determined sea. Thank you for sharing this. This one will stay with me.
