my first poem!!

okay so i’ve been into poetry for a little bit, and i haven’t shared with anyone. so im a little nervous putting it out there…

hope you enjoy! 

“quiet chapters”

everybody has a chapter 

that they don’t read out loud.

it makes one sad or happy

or angry or wild or proud.

it’s pages might be wrinkled and old,

or straight and clean and fresh. 

the words might be living in one’s mind, 

or written on their flesh.

they might read it on repeat everyday, 

or only on a quiet night.

they might read it standing in the sun

or sitting with the moonlight.

they might be content with the chapters ending,

or wish that they could rewrite it.

they might fall in love with it over and over again,

or they might learn to despise it. 

so when you meet someone, just remember,

they have a quite chapter as well.

and your words, whether good or bad,

will affect them more than you can ever tell.
