9 Steps You Can Take to Experience Enduring Happiness
"
- Interpersonal security heads this list because socially isolated individuals are prone to anxiety and depression, the exact opposite of well-being. Feeling safely connected to others—through their understanding, empathy, and support—provides a strong foundation for feeling “at home” in the world.
- Resilience is often referred to as pivotal to sustaining happiness, for though we’re all subject to hardships and losses that we need to grieve, it’s critical that we bounce back and continue addressing the wants and needs that, personally, most closely pertain to our well-being.
- Gratitude plays a major role in thinking positively.
- Forgiveness represents a life stance that facilitates letting go of grudges, anger, and distrust.
- Compassion is the quality that makes it possible to forgive others—and yourself. It’s increasingly seen as what’s most necessary to heal wounded relationships, as well as your own never-healed psychic wounds.
- Mindfulness is about living in the present, for depression relates to misgivings about the past, and anxiety to worrying about the future. Done correctly, centering your attention on your moment-to-moment experience enables you to observe and acknowledge your thoughts and feelings without evaluating them or being brought down by them.
- Self-care involves living a healthy, self-disciplined lifestyle—which involves instituting a nutritious, well-balanced diet; participating in a suitable exercise regimen, and looking to reduce tension or conflict through, say, deep breathing, meditation, spending time in nature, or finding occasions to smile and laugh with friends and family.
- Adventurousness entails a courageous mindset in which you’re not afraid of trying out new things, even though presently they may exist outside your comfort zone.
- Meaning and purpose. Living in accordance with your values and ideals, which may evolve and broaden over time, is what makes one’s life feel significant. Contrariwise, a life without goals can feel petty, tedious, and inert."

I would say I'm doing the best I can, but I have so much room for improvement when it comes to adding the "little things in life". These sounds wonderful and can be seen as a key to our happiness both in the short-term and the long-term.
@professionalVision2624 I agree. It's the little things that add up to make a bigger impact on our happiness. I wish you the best in your journey to happiness! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

*Sending a cat hug your way!*

@comfortableNight4463 All these actions are based on loving ourselves and others and learning how to not be strict with our lives and the people around us but grateful about the present.
I think no one practically masters these techniques ever as negativity can get on the way always. This is the human nature after all. The important thing is to overcome negative feelings by using such and improving such techniques in order to appreciate ourselves and every moment.
Thank you for the great post!
