How to Heal From a Broken Heart
What Is a Broken Heart?
The phrase has two meanings:
1) A painful, depressed emotional state resulting from an upsetting event such as a breakup, death of a loved one, etc.; and
2) acute stress-induced cardiomyopathy, a temporary physical condition characterized by chest pain, shortness of breath, and/or abnormal heart rhythm brought on by stress, intense emotion, serious illness, or surgery.
Signs of a Broken Heart
If your heart is broken, you might feel symptoms common to depression:
- Fatigue
- Reduced or increased appetite
- Sleeping too little or too much
- Lack of interest in your usual activities
- Anxiety
If you feel as if your physical heart actually hurts, you're not imagining it: The flood of stress hormones your body is releasing in response to your emotions can trigger broken heart syndrome, aka stress-induced cardiomyopathy. Symptoms of this physical condition include an erratic heartbeat, chest pain, and shortness of breath. You might even feel as though you're having a heart attack.1
Ways to Mend a Broken Heart
Do take care of yourself.
Do appreciate the good memories.
Do reevaluate your needs.
Do try again when you're ready.
Do forgive—both the other person and yourself.
Don't let your emotions rule.
Don't get stuck in the past.
Don't deny your needs.
Don't jump into a rebound relationship.

Loved reading this post ❤️
Ofcourse I had a broken heart and with time I realised that I should give away this heart which is too fragile to handle anything. The magic is... The more you give away your heart, the bigger it becomes and includes everyone around you in it. Now your hands are smaller to hug so many people but the heart is biiiiiggg to make them feel your love. :)
Hope all who struggle with a broken heart finds a way to heal❤️❤️

Awwww that was BEAUTIFULY written! Put a smile to my lips reading that! <3 And yes once we do give our heart to someone else and invite others to give us theirs something beautiful happens. It's like a warmth spreading from within and we find our hearts becoming softer and being able to connect with others more easily <3
@professionalVision2624 I think a lot of it comes from loving and healing yourself. If youre able to give yourself love and care then others will see that.
@Nyxo
Yes that's right! A wonderful perspective you have on it! Self-care and self-love is vital to mending a broken heart <3
@Nyxo Absolutely, I think learning how to love oneself is a definite key. Good point!

Thankyou for posting! My ex bf broke up with me for another girl. It's gonna be 2 years by November 26th. Still not able to move on 💔 . On the other side he's married n has a baby.
@BenittaJ
I'm so sorry to hear that :( I can only imagine the pain you are going through. I had a similar experience to the one you have now and it hurt so much to feel "replaced and not good enough". Although you have probably heard this before, time does make wonders for a broken heart. <3 I hope you will feel better soon <3
@professionalVision2624 Yes I've had several from the same person, I don't want to trigger anyone so I'm not going to share, but I'd say the best way is to cry as much as you need to. there is no point in holding back tears even when you're so tired of it, talk about it until even you yourself feels sick of talking about it and you naturally talk about something else. basically go thru all the emotions and don't hold back because nothing prolongs heartache more then forcing yourself to not feel emotions. It also helps to remember why the person isn't good for you or isn't the right fit for you, doing so may annoy and frusterate you but its good to keep in check because it helps with the desires to go back. NEVER go back only move forward especially if they are toxic
@tealLion9329
That's right! Very considerate of you to be aware of the potential triggers! Mhhhh I agree toxic relationships are best to leave in the past. It takes alot of strength to be able to manage a broken heart and to learn from it aswell as it's okay to "cry and be sad" since bottling it up will only make the healing process much longer and more painful
@professionalVision2624 Hmm, it's definitely a tough journey, I think most of us have faced it at one point of our lives. I tend to believe reaching for honesty and seeing the other person holistically can really help us find not only clarity but an ability to depart from the feelings of dependency.
