Leadership Spotlight: TabbyCat97

I am always excited to highlight the accomplishments of our teen community, and it’s with great pleasure that I get to announce our spotlight this month is a teen!!

@TabbyCat97 joined the listener side last September and has taken on a rainbow of roles (as seen in her bio), bringing her fun and vibrant energy to several domains. Tabby is often seen in the Teen Listeners room, offering help to teens of all levels of listening and aspiring leaders.

“I think Tabby is a lovely listener and a blossoming leader. She is consistently friendly, kind, and I can sense the passion she has in each message (this actually reminds me of my younger excited teen self, diving into roles and giving my all). Every interaction I have had with her has been nothing short of lovely, and I know that she will do brilliant things, not just as a leader, but as a person She is incredibly supportive, diligent, and certainly quite ardent with her work as a listener/leader. 🐈 Q&A with Tabby! 🐈

What motivates you to be a volunteer?
What motivates me to be a volunteer is the amazing feeling I get from being able to help others and give them someone to chat with. I know how hard it is to be alone when you are struggling, and you think it's so important that everyone has the chance to share how they are feeling and have someone there to listen.

My proudest 7cups achievement was probably becoming a Moderator for Newbie hub, Trauma Support, and Depression Support chatrooms. All these chatrooms mean a lot to me and I've always wanted to be a mod since I joined. I enjoy it so very much!

Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why
This is so hard to answer!! I admire so many of them. I think the whole of the Care Team is just so wonderful. They have been so so supportive of me and helped me so much within my role. With a special mention of @BrilliantTurtle89 @MelodyoftheOcean @Chevy81 (you guys are so amazing I can't thank you enough - I look up to you are leaders and I’m so happy to work with you)

Which active listening skills help you when communicating with your teammates and fellow leaders?
The active listening skills that help me when communicating with teammates are definitely being empathetic and understanding them and listening to them and hearing them. I think responding in a timely manner is super important too! And also remain professional and validate how everyone feels + make sure I hear them all, appreciate them all, and make sure they know their opinions on different ideas are important and worth taking into consideration ♡

What’s next for you on your 7 Cups journey? I really want to be a Teen chatroom star 😛❤️ I love the listener chatrooms and this is something I really would like to do.
