Discussion Questions
What do you think finding inner peace means?
-I find it had to be happy in my own company constantly on edge
-Not letting other people affect us
-Inner peace is like when we can accept things, come into terms with what is happening around.
-Inner peace is being happy with where you are and who you are now, accepting yourself and your circumstances.
-Not letting people, events or situations to control our feelings.
-Inner peace come when one learns to stay calm and constant in every situation, no matter what it is.
-Not letting external sources ruin our calmess.
-When I no longer react even to the situation that would trigger me.
-Finding inner peace probably is about being able to accept all of the feelings that you feel and being okay with that.
-Learning to love and accept yourself and the world around you.
Inner peace can be reached only when we practice forgiveness. Forgiveness is letting go of the past, and is therefore the means for correcting our misperceptions. is a quote from Gerald Jampolsky. Do you agree with what he is saying here? Why or why not?
-Yeah letting go of the past is a huge thing, if you live in the past you can't have peace in the present.
-I think forgiveness is a big part of it as it can mean forgiving yourself and being self accepting.
-Letting go is tough for me, but I think it's important.
-I've always had a hard time with all these "forgiveness gives peace" sayings. I don't exactly agree. If you are actively forgiving, making an effort to forgive, then it shows there's still a problem there... And if you have forgiven unconsciously, then you don't need to practice forgiveness...
-Letting go of the past allows you to focus on the present, and probably the future. That's less baggage to carry with you!
-When we can't let go of things, when we hold on to it, our feelings are going to stay. We cannot empty our thoughts without forgiving someone , else our opinions are going to be biased thus inner peace is not achievable without forgiveness.
-I agree with mr. Gerald because a bad past experience bothers us so we must forget and forgive past.
-I think we have to probably practice it more so it can come easily. Easier said than done sometimes.
-Disagree. Forgiveness doesn't mean letting go of the past but rather being able to live with it and moving past it. You never forget.
-I don't fully agree with his statement. Forgiving everything from your past you can't cause you wouldn't be who you are today if you forgive everything that happened. Also inner peace is different for every single person. I also think that if people forgave everything they would lose their inner peace because sometimes you can't just forgive and forget. I think it has very little to do with forgiveness and more to do how you view yourself.
Why do you think its important to find inner peace?
-in order to to be comfortable with oneself and be able to move forward.
-Because we all deserve peace, and if we're at war with ourselves... when and where are we going to get it?
-In order to function normally.
-You have to create the peace within yourself before can share it.
-Because we keep looking for happiness and peace elsewhere and get sad that someone else can't provide it to us. But if we find it ourselves and within, we won't let others affect our happiness.
-Because there are so many battles we have to fight on a daily basis that one of them shouldn't be fighting against ourselves.
-It's very important to find inner peace because without achieving that no one can get really happy from inside when your mind is cool and calm you can concentrate to anything and achieve success.
-Without inner peace, we will be holding on to toxic thoughts which will ruin our happiness and consecutively hurt other people who are important to us.
-I think finding inner peace is a good thing cause it gives you energy through the bad time with out some place safe to go aka your safe inner safe place. You would burn out to fast then again like I said before inner peace is different for every person What your inner peace is may not be someone elses.
How long do you think it can take to find inner peace?
-A life-time
-It depends, everyone takes different time to achieve inner peace.
-It could take as long as you let it take.
-I would think, and as long as you keep searching for it, I'm sure you'll be able to find it!
-Both no time at all and all the time you have in life, I believe.
-Only one breath . Because all we are and do is in now.
-'Finding inner peace' isn't a linear process So, time doesn't apply to it really.
-I think inner peace comes along with loving yourself.
-Thats a hard question cause inner peace is different for everyone. Some have it right away some never get it cause of the fact that they try to find it all their life and some get it in years days or months. I think more or less it depends on self awareness of it. Also I think it's getting harder and harder every day cause this day and age there's a lot of more things that want to knock you out of inner peace I also think that a lot don't believe so much in it cause this world is trained differently now. So honestly that question is different for everyone so i am gonna say how long will it take well that depends on how long your self aware.
What are some ways you can find inner peace?
Most of the answers to this questions were related to acceptance and loving ourselves ❤️
-Accepting everything as part of yourself.
-Accepting yourself.
-Believing that you're worth it.
-Each consciousness is a subjective point of view. That's the nature of it. That's not to say that there aren't commonalities of experience. It's that we will filter them differently regardless of the true nature of the thing
-Learning to accept and love yourself and others regardless of any faults or flaws.
-Meditate everyday in a particular time and try to concentrate on important and positive things only. If you have problem then try to find solution in a positive way.
-Learning forgiveness of yourself and others.
-Accepting the world as it is and let go of unrealistic desires.
-By being kind to ourselves.
Do you think that you can find peace by doing physical activities such as yoga and meditation, or is it only a mental state?
-According to me, it's a balance of both physical and mental state.
-I have been doing yoga and meditation since I was little sure it helps to feel better but there are other things as well which plays an important role.
-Meeting your physical needs is essential to get a good mood and a good mental state.
-Physical activities does lead to mental peace, for example dance, releases happy hormones , yoga calms our body, so when body is relaxed, it resonates with mind and mind cannot be in disturbed state.
-Taking care of both physical and emotional/mental needs is awesome!
-They help, yoga grounds you and helps you to know your body - physical mindfulness. Meditation is a training for your mind and emotions. Bot are a good path towards inner peace
-Inner peace is found both ways physical and mental cause in order to do it mentally you have to feel good physically if you do it only one way you drain yourself out and it backfires. I think honestly people think it's only mental when it's not. The thing is if you are only doing it physically or mentally only it will be a temp fix yet if you do both it's finding a balance that last a lot longer.
How can having peace with yourself and your life impact others?
-I don't think it has any effect necessarily, but with inner peace, that's totally okay.
-I honestly think we need to focus on ourselves first.
-Peace with yourself is the stepping stone for accepting others, and when we can find peace, we can guide others towards it too.
-As long as you interact with others, your state will have an effect. If you are angry, it will show; if you're sad, it'll show; if you're happy... you get the gist.
-It's impossible to focus on ourselves or others exclusively because we're all connected.
-Our emotions and internal states are like a filter through which we interpret our perceptions of the world and of others, and thus tint the way we act toward it / them. So yes, it has quite a big impact!
-Obviously with positivity positiveness increases same way If one comes to a circle of peaceful wise person then he/she will also be attracted to be.
-"Its easier to share our smile when we feel like smiling."
By contrast, how does others unrest impact you?
-Being an emotional person I easily get affected by others unrest .
-I feel the pain of others very deeply; it's often too much for me.
-Actually other's unrest cannot impact if we have inner peace.
-Others unrest can send out negative vibes and it can be so hard to see someone you care about feeling that way.
-Its more unconscious. Sometimes the words they say, or the reactions they give. Sometimes its the feeling you get when they're around you.
- I am emotional too. I think for me ,at least, it's not maybe about fixing but seeing that as a strength and reminding ourselves that we deserve respect and if others aren't giving us that, we the very least should give to ourselves and we deserve better than letting us affected by
Do you think that if people were able to have more inner peace, it would be better for community as a whole? Why or why not?
-Non-peaceful people can be really frustrating to live with.
-I think in that that case well be able to avoid wars completely.
-I read or heard something just recently, Rainfall, about something similar--relationships are hard and there's always going to be unrest and fighting, but the trick is to find the right way to do it in order to keep the peace even when it's turbulent!
-Those with inner peace see things in bigger pictures and bigger perspectives. in most cases, they tend to be more understanding and acceptive.
-It is like a chain reaction, just like how depression of a friend triggers emotions in us, their inner peace can also helps us evaluate our life, thoughts, and each one can guide more people and on a whole the society will be benefitted.
After this discussion, what initiatives will you take to find inner peace?
-I'm already trying to be calm, meditation and trying to stay positive always.
-I will have fun and talk with people and laugh and keep being myself.
-I'm already taking. I'll keep working on the things that's affecting me and causing me to react and dwell on things. I had a friend that did a card reading and he said the cards is harsh, I felt it was normal. I guess I'm reacting less and starting to truly face myself. -I'll be working on accepting myself
-I am gonna try to be kinder to me. Be positive and trying to stop feeling worthless.

This gives me a lot to think about in terms of what inner peace means to me.
