World Bipolar Day: March 30th
![]()
The vision of World Bipolar Day (WBD) is to bring world awareness to bipolar conditions and to eliminate social stigma. Through international collaboration, the goal of WBD is to bring the world population information about bipolar conditions that will educate and improve sensitivity towards the condition.
WBD will be celebrated each year on March 30th, the birthday of Vincent Van Gogh, who was posthumously diagnosed as probably having a bipolar condition.
WBD is an initiative of International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF) in collaboration with the Asian Network of Bipolar Disorder (ANBD) and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD)

Awaraness and acceptance needed. Van Gogh is only one of us.
Thanks for the info, @Eunoia. I'm kind of confused as to why no posts letting the active members of the BD Forum know this was upcoming were placed in the Forum. I kind of feel like a chance to discuss the event would have been supportive and beneficial; maybe fuel some creative ideas and stimulate a little conversation. Maybe it's my fault since I am the Forum's Member Leader and I didn't realize WBD was coming up this soon. I am sorry the opportunity was missed, but am excited to see all the helpful events planned for the day!
@ladylazarus1971
Hey, right now we have a team special events organizers, who organize events. We bring together forum, feed and chatroom activities for the event. There was a forum post asking for volunteers on the listeners side only since we aim to support the members. I think that's why there was no active discussion regarding this day in the forums. I would love to see people discussing how they celebrate this day! Please feel free to start any discussions in the forums.
Thank you :)
Confession of an introverted bisexual suicidal teenage girl with depression and anxiety:
I want to tell people about all of the things above, but haven't told anyone. I can't, I don't have the courage. Please accept me and help me, I am the definition of different when I'm trying so hard to fit in. I'm afraid if I told anyone, I would be subject to hate and discrimination and stigma. I'm trying to get over my mental illness by myself, and I'm beginning to get better. But there are still times when I wish myself to die, I want to hurt myself so badly and I struggle to do anything accept breathe.
@Tryingtobenormalgirl12 oops sorry I meant to post that one of the threads
I love the highs I get, I don't want that to change, but the lows are so low......... don't know what to do
