If ur reading this rn, you probably love books, but I want to know your fav book genre and why!

Do you like mystery bc it gives you the chills?

Romance bc you love da lovey-dovey stuff?

Also I would 🤍 if you gave me an example of a book that corresponds to the genre!

@MindonFireOCD Hi, and welcome here to the hobby zone.

I tend to read suspense/mystery novels, autobiographies, or historic fiction.

Some recent reads on my kindle, in no particular order: Heart Wounds by Linsey Lanier (suspense), Margaret Sanger (autobio), or Up From Slavery by Booker T Washington (autobio), and I am currently reading The Bookseller's Tale by Ann Swinfen (historic fiction).

Great question! My favorite genre would probably be “literary fiction”, so all the classics “new” and old, though the definition of the genre can be a bit slippery.

@MindonFire6

Hey there!

I have lately been into romance novels. The latest read being, It Starts With Us (sequel to It Ends With Us) by Colleen Hoover. Honestly, I bought the book losing to the hype it had among the readers. Immediate impact it had on me was regret since, the genre didn't particularly suit me and my expectations. But eventually, I got in love with the book. To the extent I could not take my eyes off it. Besides, it was worth the hype it had in the market. It sends out a strong message about topics such as Domestic Abuse, Child Upbringing, How We Ought to Value Self and other Relationships, etc. Although, I'm not a voracious reader, this book definitely caught my attention. Thereby, developing my interest in the category. A must read. I look forward to exploring other genres too. Any recommendations are welcome.

Ps. If you have read the above book, you can relate the reference to my profile! 😉

I love fantasy/sci-fi because you can be in a different, more exciting, world. It's often a form of escape for me. I love the Percy Jackson books, especially the Magnus Chase offshoot, because Rick Riordan includes such a wide array of people.

Also you're asking about us, so I want to ask you, What's your favorite genre?
