Perfume by Patrick Suskind. It's like no other novel i've ever read. It's unique, intriguing and wonderfully weird all at the same time. It is one of the few books that i keep and have read multiple times.

The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse about a scholarly game resembling chess but much more complex and also The Idiot by Dostoevsky, about an innocent and ignorant character that is Christ-like in his guilelessness.
Also currently reading The Green Bone Saga, Jade City, Jade War, and Jade Legacy. It's a fantasy series about warring clans who carry jade which gives them magical fighting ability. It is set in a fictional land that resembles Asia. Also, it's worth mentioning that the author has a black belt in martial arts for what it's worth.

My favorite book series ever is Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. Also, (probably even more!) I love the sequel series, Dragonwatch. They are amazing fantasy books for all ages and are filled with excitement, anticipation, and creativity. If you haven't read them before I highly suggest (demand? 😉) you read them.
