Holmes & Watson

One of my favourite things about the Sherlock Holmes stories has never been the mysteries.
It's Watson.
He's the one who chose to write everything down. He could've lived his own quiet life, yet instead he filled pages with Holmes' victories, habits, strange little quirks, and the cases no one else would've remembered.
There's something quietly beautiful about that.
The world knows Sherlock Holmes because Watson decided his friend was worth writing about.
Maybe that's just another way of saying, "You mattered to me."
