Hey everyone! I've recently rekindled my love of reading and would love some recommendations of short series books/one-offs that you highly recommend! If possible, please give a short summary and why that book hooked you!

So many books and so many types of things to read... what kind of books do you like to read? I loved Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (rarely pick science fiction but this one was excellent). The Scent Keeper by Erica Bauermeister was another I really enjoyed, sort of a coming-of-age story but unique. I hope others share their favorites and you find a few that you really like!

"The Body Keeps the Score", by Bessel van der Kolk.

This is an excellent guide to trauma, PTSD, triggers, and various suggestions for healing. It explores the root of anxiety, depression, and dissociative disorders- arguing that trauma is the cause instead of an effect. It's a good starting point for exploring the causes of trauma, how it re-wires your brain, and how to re-wire it back.
