What book are you currently reading?
I just finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
Hands down the worst book I've read in at least ten years.

The writing was atrocious - at some parts I was actually offended at how bad it was. The characters were so ridiculous and their motivations so unbelievable that any possible redemption that may have come from the plot itself was lost. The plot itself was so outlandish that it would have taken a great writer to make it seem even remotely plausible - and, as we have already established, I would say without hesitation that Gillian Flynn is NOT a great writer. This was a terrible book pretending/trying to be an intelligent book. I'm fairly certain it only became as popular as it did because people mistook shock value for good writing.

Very interesting life and a nice peek into a past culture who's humanity is the same as ours.

An early Egyptian feminist. Her books are hard to come by, but the other two I've read, I really liked a lot.

Happy to be of service, I am a sharer by nature. I study Egyptian Arabic, so I wanted to read a few books by Egyptian feminists. All her books were written in French which was the native language practically for elite Moslems of that time, and then translated into English. She escaped Egypt when Nasser came into power as he set about taking every last thing from her, so she lost everything she or her family owned before he took over.

I just finished the Shades of Magic series by V.E.Schwab(first book is A Darker Shade of Magic). It is my new favorite series, and it will be your too if you like magic, pirates, theives, bisexual princes, multiple Londons/multiple parallel worlds and astronomical levels of sass and sarcasm :D
